I liked the
Art LEGO Office
so much I decided to move in myself. I made some minor structural modifications – strengthening walls and improving the look of the transparent bricks (my OCD kicked in and I couldn't stand seeing any solid color studs through the transparent bricks/tiles.) I also added the dbw sign which should require no explanation and which turned out so well that you'll probably see it again in some form.
I tried to maintain the art deco theme with the furniture – anything less would have been visually jarring. Desks and tables are anchored while chairs are not.
And introducing my secretary, Ms. Jan Holland. Unless the lady's meant to wear pants the minifig legs old really work well as a skirt or dress.
My office is on the right, lobby center, and the LEGO® workshop is on the left. All the windows provided a challenge to interior decorating. My usual instinct to line the walls with furniture had to be rejected in favor of a “building island” in the workshop.
Does anyone else find a LEGO® workshop made of LEGO® bricks something worthy of further reflection ?
The porthole bricks with 1x1 tile faces are meant to be brick drawers. A 2x2 round plate on a 2x2 dome top cylinder makes a simple yet appealing stool.
Various combinations of curved bricks, small wedges, and grille bricks create the furniture.
